Rescue Me ID: 16-06-07-00139Tawni (female)

Schipperke Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Late this spring, Rescue Ranch helped a family who had been overwhelmed when things got out of control with their unspayed and unneutered terrier/chihuahua mix pups (for more info, see our 38-and-Counting story on our webpage, rrdog.org ). After quarantine, vet checks, neutering and spaying, and in some cases medical treatment -- the first batch of the adult dogs (most are around a year old) is ready for adoption. These sweet dogs had not been exposed to new situations and people, and it's taken some of them awhile to settle in and let their personalities shine. Personalities range from confident and friendly from the start to initially ... (Read More)shy but now beginning to enjoy life. Just as they are learning what it's like to interact with people, we are learning more about the individual personalities, on a daily basis. It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Tawni is a petite cutie, at just 13 pounds. She's doing very well adjusting to life at Rescue Ranch, including walking nicely on leash, and keeping her kennel clean. She's friendly, calm and quiet (rarely barks), and she gets along nicely with her kennel mates. You can meet Tawni any day at Rescue Ranch, between noon and 4pm, or you can call the Ranch at 842-0829 for more information. (Less)

It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Rainbow, a lovely young girl, has been easy from the start. Calm, quiet, and friendly, she would fit right into most any home. She's doing great walking on a leash, and gets along well with her kennel mates. Like some of the others in this bunch, she has that interesting short tail, and a lovely glossy black coat. Rainbow is just waiting for you to come meet her! Schipperke Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Just as they are learning what it's like to interact with people, we are learning more about the individual personalities, on a daily basis. It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. We're guessing that Princess is a little bit older than most of the other dogs in this bunch. She's also one of the larger ones, at 20 pounds. She's quiet (rarely barks), calm, and friendly. She gets along with her kennel-mates, as long as they are also calm -- so she'd do best in a home as the only dog, or with other calm dogs (after a successful meet-and-greet). Princess is waiting for that special person (or persons) to come by the Ranch for a visit, and be charmed by her sweetness and elegance. You can visit the Ranch any day between noon and 4pm, or call us at 842-0829 for more information. (Less)

It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Gina, with her funny 1/2 tail (she came like that) is beginning to settle in at Rescue Ranch. She was one of the shy ones to begin with, and was reluctant to share her food with her kennel-mates -- but under the loving guidance of RR staff and volunteers, and with plenty of quality food and water available, Gina is overcoming both challenges. Come by the Ranch any day between noon and 4pm to meet Gina, or call us a842-0829 for more information. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-06-00515Allen (male)

Schipperke Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Allen, with his cute curly tail, is one of the bunch who took awhile to relax at the Ranch. He started out a bit reserved (but approachable) and is now loving attention. He gets along well with his kennel-mates and walks nicely on a leash. Like all of these dogs, he so deserves a life with his own person (or persons) -- he has so much to give back to someone who can give him the love and guidance to help him gain confidence and have fun! Being a black dog (for some reason, black dogs in general are slower to be adopted) and perhaps not the one to run to front of the kennel and demand your attention, it would be easy to overlook Allen. Won't you come by to meet him and see if he's meant to be your dog? Rescue Ranch is open every day from 12pm-4pm, and our phone number is 842-0829, if you'd like to call for more information. (Less)

It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Silver's photo doesn't do her justice -- her lovely dark gray coat has lighter highlights. She's just 14 pounds, one of the smaller dogs in the bunch. She's adapted well to life at the Ranch, where she is sweet, friendly, quiet, and keeps her kennel clean. She gets along fine with her kennel mates, but hasn't yet met any cats nor kids so we'll update that info when we know it. Gemma would love to meet you and see if she's fit for your family -- she has a lot of love to give. Come by Rescue Ranch any day from 12pm to 4pm, or call us at 842-0829 for more info. (Less)

Just as they are learning what it's like to interact with people, we are learning more about the individual personalities, on a daily basis. It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Sweet Gemma is definitely one of the 'gems' of this bunch. She can be a bit hesitant at first, but is sweet and loving once she knows she's safe. Gemma has joined the Rescue Ranch bunch at both Dogwood Daze in Dunsmuir and the Iron Dog Challenge at Greenhorn Park, where she did very well and had a great time. She walks wonderfully on a leash, keeps her kennel clean, and is so quiet we're not sure she knows how to bark! She has gotten along well with her kennel mates here at the Ranch, but has not been around cats nor kids yet. Come by Rescue Ranch any day from 12pm to 4pm to meet this little Gemma, or give us a call at 842-0829 for more info. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-06-00416Gertie (female)

Schipperke Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Late this spring, Rescue Ranch helped a family who had been overwhelmed when things got out of control with their unspayed and unneutered terrier/chihuahua mix pups (for more info, see our 38-and-Counting story on our webpage, rrdog.org ). Just as they are learning what it's like to interact with people, we are learning more about the individual personalities, on a daily basis. It's amazing to see them respond so well to some love, quality food, and clean living conditions. Gertie seems to be a little older than the rest of the bunch, although still a relatively young dog. She did a great job as the mom of the oldest set of puppies. She's sweet, calm, and quiet (rarely barks). She keeps her kennel clean, and quickly figured out walking on a leash. She's fine with most of the other small dogs, but does like to be in charge! Gertie seems wise beyond her years. Come meet this sweet girl at Rescue Ranch any day between noon and 4pm, or call the Ranch at 842-0829 for more information. (Less)

He's friendly and outgoing, just waiting for the right person or family to give him some love and attention. He has taken well to leash walking, keeps his kennel clean, and has no problems with the other dogs in his current pack.
